Scores and results
Why did my score change when my skin hasn't?
Your score describes one photograph, not your skin in the abstract — and photographs vary a lot. Lighting, focus, how close you hold the phone, the angle of your face and even your camera's automatic exposure all move the number, sometimes substantially. Two scans taken minutes apart can genuinely come out different.
For the most comparable results, scan in similar light, at a similar distance, with a sharp photo, at a similar time of day. And read the trend across many scans rather than the gap between any two — the direction over weeks is far more meaningful than a single change.
What do the six measures mean?
Hydration, pores, texture, pigmentation, redness and oiliness — each scored out of 100, where higher describes a healthier-looking appearance. The three lowest are marked as focus areas and are what your routine is built around. They describe how skin looks in the photo; they are not clinical measurements.
Femlura asked me to retake the photo
That happens when the image is too dark, too blurry, or not a clear front-facing view of a face. Rather than guess at scores from a photo it cannot read, Femlura asks for another one. Try facing a window, holding the phone steady at arm's length, and keeping hair off your face.
It suggested I see a dermatologist. What did it find?
Nothing specific — and deliberately so. Femlura does not identify or name conditions. If something in the photo falls outside ordinary cosmetic appearance, it raises that flag so a qualified professional can look, and stops there. It is a prompt to get advice, not an assessment.
Photos and privacy
Is my photo stored anywhere?
Not on our servers. Your selfie is sent for one analysis, read, and then discarded — it is never written to our database or file storage. A copy stays in the app's private storage on your own phone so your results and before/after comparison keep working, and it never leaves the device unless you share it yourself. The full detail is in the Privacy Policy.
How do I delete my photos or my whole account?
Both are in Settings. You can clear the stored photos while keeping your score history, or delete the account entirely — which removes your profile, scans, routines and shelf. Deleting your account does not cancel an Apple subscription; do that separately in your Apple ID settings.
Do you use my photos to train AI models?
No. They are used for your analysis and then discarded.
Subscription
How do I cancel?
Subscriptions are billed by Apple, so cancelling happens there: open the Settings app, tap your name, then Subscriptions, choose Femlura and cancel. You keep access until the end of the period you have already paid for. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.
I subscribed but the paid features are still locked
Try Restore purchases in Settings first; that re-checks your entitlement with the App Store. If it is still locked a few minutes later, email us with the Apple ID email you purchased with and we will sort it out.
Can I get a refund?
Refunds for App Store purchases are handled by Apple, not by us. Request one at reportaproblem.apple.com. If something went wrong on our side, tell us and we will help you make the case.
I moved to a new phone
Add an email address to your account before you switch, so your history moves with you — an anonymous account lives only on the device that created it. Then sign in on the new phone and use Restore purchases. Note that photos are stored only on the device, so the before/after images do not transfer.
Routine, reminders and language
My reminders aren't arriving
Check that notifications are allowed for Femlura in your phone's Settings, and that the reminder toggle is on in the app. Reminders are scheduled by your phone, so Focus modes, Do Not Disturb and Low Power Mode can hold them back.
My routine is in the wrong language
Your results and routine are written in whichever language the app was set to when you scanned, and stored that way rather than translated afterwards. If you switch languages, run a new scan and the new routine will be written in your current one. The app shows a note on the Routine screen when this has happened.
Why does it suggest ingredients instead of products?
Because we do not know what is on the shelf where you live, or what it costs. Naming “10% niacinamide” or “fragrance-free” tells you what to look for without pretending to knowledge we do not have — you can then buy it wherever you actually shop.
I've hit a daily limit
There is a cap on how many analyses one account can run in 24 hours, which keeps automated misuse from running up costs. It resets on a rolling basis — try again later in the day.
Something else
Bug reports, feature requests, press, partnerships and privacy requests all go to the same place: theamasoud@gmail.com.
Femlura describes the visible appearance of skin. It is not a medical device, it does not diagnose, and it is not a substitute for a dermatologist. If something on your skin worries you, please see one.
